I never had the opportunity to meet my father.

Before I was born, he was gone. My mother became both my mother and my father, raising five children by herself. She sacrificed everything she had to make sure we had food on the table, a roof over our heads, and someone who believed in us even when life was difficult.

I was the second oldest of five children.

By the time I was seven years old, I was already working and doing whatever I could to help my mother provide for our family. Those early years taught me lessons no classroom ever could — work hard, keep your word, respect people, and never quit when life gets difficult.

I eventually earned my GED and spent years working different jobs simply trying to survive and create a better future.

Those experiences shaped the man I am today.

One day, a friend offered me a job in the screen enclosure industry.

At the time, I needed work.

I had no idea I was about to discover a career that would become my passion.

What began as a job quickly became something much bigger. I fell in love with designing and building outdoor living spaces where families could gather, children could play safely, grandparents could relax, and friends could make memories together.

Every screen room, pool enclosure, patio cover, and lanai we build isn't just another project.

It's someone's home. It's where birthdays are celebrated. It's where grandchildren play. It's where families spend time together after a long day.

That means something to me.

In 2015, I started J-Rod & Sons with one simple goal: treat every customer the way I'd want someone to treat my own family.

I didn't want to build the biggest company overnight. I wanted to build one of the most trusted.

From the very beginning, I've believed that success isn't measured only by the number of projects you complete. It's measured by how many people trust you enough to recommend you to their friends, neighbors, and family.

Most contractors focus on the project. I focus on the people.

I enjoy getting to know my customers — their families, their children, their grandchildren, their neighbors, and the communities they call home.

When we finish your project, I don't want you to remember only the screen enclosure. I want you to remember how you were treated.

My goal is to earn your trust for years to come, so that when your neighbor needs a screen room, your son needs a patio enclosure, or your daughter buys her first home, you'll think of us first.

That's how strong communities are built. One relationship at a time.

I'm the person who visits your home. I'm the person who listens to your ideas. I'm the person who explains your options honestly. I'm the person who oversees your project from beginning to end.

If I don't believe a particular solution is right for your home, I'll tell you. If another option makes more sense, I'll explain why.

I'd rather lose a sale than lose someone's trust.

I'm not perfect. I don't claim to know everything.

But I promise this: I'll always keep learning. I'll always work hard. I'll always treat your home with respect. And whenever possible, I'll go the extra mile to help a homeowner in need.

Today, I'm a proud father of five children and a grandfather to three amazing grandchildren.

Everything I do is bigger than me.

My dream isn't simply to own a successful business. My dream is to build a company that my children and grandchildren will one day be proud to lead.

I want them to inherit more than equipment and trucks. I want them to inherit a reputation built on honesty, craftsmanship, integrity, service, and faith.

I want future generations of our family to continue serving homeowners throughout Jacksonville and Northeast Florida with the same values that built this company.

Whether we're building a custom screen room in Jacksonville, replacing a pool enclosure in Orange Park, repairing storm damage in St. Augustine, or installing a patio cover in Ponte Vedra Beach, our mission remains the same:
